Back from heart doctor

Ok....I was told that my swelling isn't from my heart, but because I have MS, Fibromyalgia etc...!!! She listened to my heart and lungs and she said that she can hear the "crakle" from my heart and lungs. And how my heart is really beating fast because of my left lung. Left lung and right of heart are both swollen. She said that she won't give me any water pills because she doesn't believe that I NEEDED IT!!! She wants me to stay on the oxygen like I'm doing, 24/7. I'm just so pissed and upset that I'm shaking now! I need to get out of these clothes and into something cooler.

Gee, is swelling an MS and Fibromyalgia symptom, too?  No wonder you are confused, but maybe this is better news than it would be otherwise. I hope so.  We will be anxious to hear how your daughter is doing.  Thanks for posting about your trip to the heart doctor.  I am learning, too!  Gerry

Lisa,
Looked things up on the Net. It's correct that you can get swelling on the legs and lungs in multiple sclerosis, Lisa. Fibromyalgia causes the same problem. I don't agree with not giving any water pills - I would suggest to seek a second opinion. The fact that the oedema (that's what you have) is caused by fibro and MS does not mean it should not be treated. You're having a fast heart rate and so-called crepitations (crackles on the lungs) - methinks you do have water that needs shifting and fast.

They need to give you something to try to get your retention of water down.  I'm happy it isn't seemingly heart related.  Take care Lisa.

I'm happy to hear that it wasn't heart related.  I am worried that they don't seem to be giving you anything to get that swelling down.  It has been going on for quite a while now.  My prayers are with you.  Luv ya!
