More stuff

Well...my new nurse came today to take my vitals and to give me a straight cath. I've been feeling that I'm not empting fully when I go to the bathroom. She told me to go to the bathroom to empty my bladder. Then she put the cath in. OMG!!! She got 300 mL's! Boy do I feel relifed! She called my doctor to see if I should go ahead and have a cath put in for awhile, she hasn't called back yet. She's also going to ask about puting an I.V. in and giving me the Lasix that way, and also have the cath, until my body is back to the way it was.

I have my fingers crossed. That sounds like a really good solution to a painful situation.
So glad you have some relief for now.

Lisa sounds like you may possibly have gotten a nurse that not only cares but is good at caring for her people and will work to get you assistance when needed.  Hang on to this one.  Take care. Arlene (AJ)

This is what happened when the home nurse put in a catheter for Pierre.  I was amazed at how much liquid he was able to dispell.  The nurse said that this was causing him pain in his tissues.  So it is best the catheter is left in for a while to make sure you are getting rid of this fluid that is building up.  Gerry

Lisa,
I am just catching up from the last few days. What a nightmare you have been dealing with and I am SO happy to hear that this new nurse may be doing some stuff to give you some relief hun!! I am going to read the other entries I am behind. I sure wish I could just take it away even if for just one day for you!
Love you, Robyn

Methinks, Lisa, that the MS may well interfere with passing water :-\
I'm pleased they are taking a more pro-active approach on your problems with water retention
