Relief?

Yesterday wasn't as busy as I'd thought. Whew! Glad of that, it was so cold out! The wind went right through me and straight to my bones! Ouchie! After coming home, it seemed that I couldn't get warmed up. Of course, thats the way it always is.
Nothing much happened around the house...just the normal things. My son was at work, my daughter and grandson was here and making me laugh. :o) My daughter had an interview with a doctor's office to be a recepctionist! :o) {SP} She will find out soon if she will get the job! I'm very proud of her. :o) My son, I hardly ever see...he works long hours. Then has band practice afterwards! :o) I'm just as proud of him as well! :o)
Last evening, from my hips down to my feet, went numb...just numb, no pins and needle feeling. I didn't know what to do. Of course, I was sitting on one of the kitchen chairs. I'm really not able to sit on them for a very long period of time. Well...I guess that was a big sign that "No, you can't!" I couldn't stand up...so I just sat there and waited. Nothing else I could think of doing. I was talking to my husband when it happend. Finally, I felt that I could stand, so I stood up with my walker, and I leaned onto it, and basically tip toed to my bed to sit there. Now that scared me a bit. Geesh!

I still had on layers of pj's to get warm! :o) I guess I need warmer pj's too! I didn't realize that one either. Oh well. I'll make due. :o) I have sweaters and robes. :o) I also realized that I didn't eat yesterday either. I've still been secretly batteling that as well. But have not been journaling it. I drink water. It's too easy for me to not eat, then it is to eat. If that makes any sence? And you know what? No one has noticed!
Moving on........
I needed to rest yesterday. My hips are really hurting. Which I blame on the Ohio weather! ggrrr! It's now 22 degrees out! Yep...my bones feel it! :o) I feel like the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz...I need oiled pretty badly! lol :o) Please? :o) lol
Well....I suppose this is all now. Nope...one more thing! I am so very happy to hear that one of my friends has been soooo Blessed! :o) You Rock lj!!! :o)
Thank you all for all of your emails and your comments! :o) God Does bless all of us!

I SOOOO understand this entry!!!!
Know bout the cold & it's affect on bones & joints. GRRRR
Sometimes I can't move either, have no one to help me...son & wife are gone most of time & besides they have told me "when you can't do for yourself we're putting you in a nursing home, don't have the time to take care of you." And about my beloved dogs "If you can't get them in & out, then get rid of them, no one here is going to help you." So, like you...I sit or lay till I can make it.
Know what you mean about food too, only in the opposite. Hurts too bad to spend time preparing a healthy meal for one. (I cook on a hot plate & micro in my bdrm) so I usually opt for snack type foods, fattening junk foods! I try to eat healthy, but sometimes just in too much pain to cook. So I eat all the wrong stuff. :(
I wear thick sweats to sleep in & around the house. Get you a couple sets & pull them on over your warmest pjs, with thick socks & knit gloves. That's what i do! :)

Your legs going numb, now that would scare me.  Do you have severe neuropathy?  I have peripheral neuropathy and my legs and feet tingle all the time.  The interesting this is when I walk it tends to get worse.  Of course no one can figure out why I have such bad neuropathy.  Live and Learn.

Stay Warm!

Hi Lisa,
I am sorry that happened to you with your hips and feet.  Did it continue all the way down your legs?  That is scary, I don't blame you for being scared.  Did you get the feeling back today?  I sure do hope so.  I know what you mean about the "tin man."  When I was first diagnosed with RA I remember one time going to the show and when it ended, I got up and could hardly walk, my legs were so sore and it was as if my knees locked on me.  I walked so slowly and everyone was walking ahead of me. If I sit for a long time I get really stiff, it's a scary feeling, it feels like I have no control of my body.  When I was first diagnosed, I lost a bunch of weight because I was so scared that I hardly ate, just no appetite.  I look back on that time now and I would have to say i probably did have a nervous breakdown, it was a terrible time.  Honestly right now it wouldn't hurt me to go a few days without eating...I could stand to lose some weight.  I haven't been on the scale lately, I am very reluctant to weigh myself.  :0
I do hope that you are feeling better today.
All for now.
XO
Donna
