Ok......This was the appointment that I have been waiting for! Because after seeing that "MS Specialist" and how I was treated....I called my neurologist back and made an appointment!
I'm sitting on the bed thingy that has the paper stuff on it and my mom is sitting in a chair. My doctor comes in and asked me how I've been doing. Before I could answer him, he said, "Not very good, huh." I told him no I haven't been and that I've lost a lot of abilities. He got what he said to me just by seeing me. I haven't seen him since March 9th! He said that I have progressed more then he thought I would. He asked me about pain and I told him about all the pains that I know aren't from the fibromyalgia. Then he basically finished my sentance by saying that I "feel" patchy numbness in different areas of my body and the feeling of something wrapped around my upper body! I told him yes, I am having those feelings. I also told him about the "electric shock" feelings and he said yes, thats part of this as well. He also noticed right away that I'm losing and have lost, a lot of my small motor in my hands! He didn't give me any tests. He could tell things by looking at me, and my answers to his questions.
He asked me how that appointment with the specialist in Cincy. I told him it went no where! I told him all she had me do and even showed him! By the look on his face....he was not at all happy! He said she didn't even order tests? I said nope! And that I will not ever go back there! He agreed!
So, he ordered me 2 MRI's and gave me medicine for my MS pains!!!!!! YAY!!!! Finally!!! Woo Hoo!!! :o)
It's a medicine that they also use for seizure disorders! I took the letters that I printed out from a friend and showed him and he said that the dilantin and tegretal (which are used to treat seizures) will help with with the nerve pains. Lyrica is what he gave me. He is starting me out on a low does and then he said he'll up the dose a few times until it gets where he wants it. :o) I have already taken a pill and so far so good! I haven't felt anything stupid, just being a bit more dizzy! lol just what I need, huh?! LOL Yes, I did tell him about me falling so much lately and again he said my progression has went faster then he expected. So, I'm so happy and very relieved! I'm finally getting treated for my MS!!!! Lets all say.....YAY! :o)

Hi Lisa, a friend of mine has MS and takes those same medications. They will help you more and more as you take them. There is no cure for MS but with the right treatment, you should get rid of many of your problems. Praying that you reach a remission. My friend has been in one for almost a year now. HUGS Chris
I'm so glad your neurologist is doing something. Geez....I couldn't believe how the dr. in Cincy was.
Hugs,
